Clothing and Personal Belongings

It would be really helpful if you could name as many items as possible although, of course, children often know what belongs to them and also their friends.

When at nursery your child will always need the following:

1. Indoor footwear – plimsolls or slippers

2. Wellington boots

3. Waterproof trousers

4. A bag containing a change of clothes - particularly pants and socks

  1. 5.Packed lunch if staying after 12.30pm (containing cooler to keep food fresh*)

   * health regulation

There is space for Wellington boots and slippers to stay at school. We request no chocolate or crisps and are keen to encourage children to drink water which is always freely available.

In winter:  warm hat, gloves and coat.

In summer:  sunhat and suncream

Clothing and shoes should be easily changed by children (i.e. slip-ons, Velcro, buckles are preferable to laces). We will practise changing clothes at school and we have a very useful technique for putting coats on which is most effective.  Lay coat on the floor, collar and sleeves facing you.  Put hands and arms down sleeves.  Lift coat over head and Bingo! It is on.  Great fun and very satisfying to be able to put your own coat on!
